At "CEREMONY," their self-produced event held at K Arena Yokohama in June 2026, Mrs. GREEN APPLE expanded the world of Phase 3 onto the live stage. Built around "lulu.," written as the opening theme for the second season of the anime "Frieren: Beyond Journey's End," the show demonstrated how arena-scale experience design and the narrative depth of the music fit together. ZEN editorial takes a closer look.

"lulu." was surprise-released in January 2026 and centers on memories and feelings passed from one person to the next. Positioned as the first new song of Phase 3, it is part of the band's long-term conceptual design rather than a one-off tie-up.

Many domestic artists pair with anime works, but Mrs. GREEN APPLE are known for folding tie-ups into a larger narrative they call a "phase." Designing an entire activity period as a single story aligns with the goal of encouraging long-term streaming.

By linking arena shows, MV releases, and streaming launches, the band builds a path that lets listeners move across channels while engaging with the work's world. Designing video, live, and audio as one package is a model independent artists can learn from as well.

Also worth noting: the world of Phase 3

Phase 3 places different motifs in each song while keeping a consistent overarching theme. The songs that follow "lulu." can be read as different facets of the same story.

Linking arena-scale shows with a long-term concept offers useful hints for building a foundation aimed at overseas expansion. Designing work as a line rather than a point is easy to apply at any scale.
