YOASOBI has released on YouTube the Official Music Video for "UNDEAD," the theme of the TV anime Monogatari Series Off & Monster Season. In parallel, three tracks from the English EP "E-SIDE 4" premiered on YouTube, and a "MUSIC AWARDS JAPAN" performance has been confirmed. With a Japanese-original anime tie-up and an English EP on two axes, a design that simultaneously works domestic anime channels and overseas listener channels is visible.

"UNDEAD" is a song written for the theme of the Monogatari Series Off & Monster Season, with Ayase's composition and ikura's vocals factoring the work's multilayered world into the music's design. The MV follows the standard design of intercutting key scenes from the anime with YOASOBI's performance, while translating the series' distinctive storytelling into visual language.

Since "Idol" (Oshi no Ko OP) and "The Brave" (Frieren OP), YOASOBI has perfected a design that delivers popular anime themes to global listeners via simultaneous YouTube release and DSP distribution. "E-SIDE 4" is the latest, fourth installment of its English EP series, a device that aggregates listeners worldwide onto the same track by presenting the Japanese original and English version simultaneously.

From a production and distribution view, anime tie-up themes are effective at capturing first-week anime-fan demand and creating streaming momentum on a channel distinct from existing YOASOBI listeners. Releasing English-version tracks in parallel is becoming a standard for global listener connection that optimizes diffusion on overseas DSP Discover Weekly and the YouTube algorithm.

Also worth revisiting: 'Idol'

"Idol," one of YOASOBI's signature works that spread worldwide as the opening theme of the TV anime Oshi no Ko, is also worth revisiting. Ayase embodied the many faces of an idol (the public face, inner pressure and adoration from fans) in a three-layer structure of J-pop beat, rap and gospel chorus, and it is remembered as a track that rewrote the standard for anime-opening design.

From the ZEN editorial desk, YOASOBI's audience design with an anime theme as the aggregation point is a model also readable for independent artists. Factoring a work's world into a track's design, designing YouTube autoplay, shorts and full-length in three layers, and offering English and original versions simultaneously to reach global listeners—this is a design theory relevant to every artist implementing tie-up works and collaborations.
